Amid appeal by the National Movement for Old Pension Scheme to join them in a rally tomorrow, December 11, state government has issued a notification informing that a committee has been formed to “examine the issues relating to the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme for employees who are covered under the Sikkim Government Servants’ (Contributory Pension) Rules, 2006.”
The notification read, “The State Government is pleased to constitute a committee to examine the issues relating to the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme for employees who are covered under the Sikkim Government Servants’ (Contributory Pension) Rules, 2006.”
The composition of the Committee was informed, as per the notification to be as under:

“The Committee may co-opt any other Officer of the State Government as a Member, if required.” The notification read.”
“The Committee shall submit its report to the Government within a period of three months,” it added.
National Movement for Old Pension Scheme, Sikkim was organizing a Road Rally on 11 December 2022 demanding the restoration of Old Pension Scheme. The rally was to be carried out at 10:30 AM from Tata Stand, Deorali to Zero point Gangtok.
The executive body of NMOPS Sikkim had appealed, all the government employees to participate in this rally who don’t fall under Old Pension Scheme.
