A tragic case of gang rape has been reported from Bihar where, a Sikkimese girl, resident of Gangtok, who was on a tour to Bihar was reportedly gang raped by two Bihar residents.
The case is still being investigated by the Bihar Police while the Sikkim Police have been in touch necessarily.
According to a report published by east mojo on June 7, The survivor and her friend were bound to return to Sikkim after a tour to Bihar, on June 5, but having missed their train they seeked help to find accommodation in a Kishanganj guest house from a local friend of their’s.
Further, the accused that have been indentified are Arhan Akhtar, a resident of Bahadurganj, and Amjad Hussain, a resident of Araria district. Akhtar was reportedly known to the friend who had arranged accommodation for the girls.
The two accused were reportedly intoxicated forcing entry in the victim’s room and started behaving inappropriately. The accused upon being confronted by the male friend who arranged the stay, tied him up and then proceeded to rape the victim one after another, stated that news report
The friend of the victim fleed and reach the Police Station to report the situation. The police team raided the location, resucued the victim and apprehended both accused.
