Gangtok, 11th August – In a move towards digital governance, the Sikkim Legislative Assembly has adopted a paperless initiative.
Today’s budget session was entirely paperless, with legislators utilizing tablets to refer to the list of business, the Governor’s speech, and the budget presented by Chief Minister P.S. Tamang.
The complete proceedings were broadcast live through the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), enabling transparent and real-time access to legislative activities.
To ensure a smooth transition to this digital format, a familiarization training session was recently provided to the legislators.
The public can access comprehensive information on the proceedings by logging in to the NeVA application, promoting greater transparency and public engagement with the legislative process.
The bulletin issued by Sikkim Legislative Assembly reads that the practise of supplying hard copy of the proceedings has been discontinued henceforth.
