Namchi16thSeptember(IPR):Minister Transport, Buildings and Housing Departments Cum Chairman of State Oxygen Management Committee Shri. Sanjeet Kharel inaugurated a newly setup 1000 liters Per Minute Pressure Swing Adsorption Oxygen Generator Plant installed at the premises of District Hospital Namchi, today.
He was accompanied by Hon’ble Advisor Skill Development Department Shri Satish Chandra Rai, Zila Adhakshya (South) Smt.Tshering Dem Bhutia, Namchi Municipal Council Chairperson Shri. Ganesh Rai and local gentry. The program also had presence of DC (South) Shri M. Bharani Kumar, CMO (South) Shri. DC Sharma alongside medical doctors and staff of health Department and other concerned officials.
It may be mentioned here that the oxygen plant was installed under the Prime Minister Cares Fund PSA project. The installation work was completed within the span of two months which was undertaken by Builidings Department. Likewise, such oxygen plants are also installed in the district hospitals of Gyalsing, Singtam and Sochyagang, New STNM Currently, the oxygen plant shall be operated by Mr. Rohit Rai (Mechanical.JE.) and Mr Purna Bdr. Pradhan(Electrical J.E) of health Department.
Addressing to the media, Hon’ble Minister extended his warm congratulations on the successful installation of oxygen plant at the district hospital. He said that the setting up of oxygen plant is a boon towards catering to needs of public. Amid the covid pandemic such facility shall be a crucial at any stage of medical crisis in providing unabated oxygen supply to critical patients,he added.
Further, he also expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim for timely intervention to set up such important facility in order to fight against corona disease. Thereafter, Hon’ble Minister also took inspection of under construction government sites in Namchi namely 300 Bedded District Hospital Namchi and Namchi Community Hall. Wherein, he reviewed the progress of works and enquired whether the works are being executed as per planning within the stipulated time.
