Rock climbing course the highlight of the second day at Khangchendzonga Adventure Meet 2020
Pelling, December 26: The second day of the first Khangchendzonga Adventure Meet 2020, Pelling concluded in a grand manner, with the Member of Lok Sabha Indra Hang Subba as Chief Guest and D.B Gurung, Chairman at the State Bank of Sikkim along with other dignitaries.
The main attraction of the day was the rock climbing course conducted by Chemchey Rock Climbing Institute South Sikkim in collaboration with Pelling Tourism Development Association, following which the second round of the National Paragliding Accuracy Trails was also conducted, wherein all 52 pilots landed safely.
Meanwhile, Om Bahadur Karki and Bhakta Bhadhur Karki were felicitated for their immense contribution for providing land for the take-off point at Karki Dara for paragliding and helping promote adventure tourism at Pelling.
The day concluded with a football semifinal match played between WSC Yangthang and Young Boys Pipalay following which WSC Yangthang became victorious scoring 3 goals against 0, booking their place in the finals of the tournament.
Indra Hang Subba addressing the gathering said, “Government jobs in our state is saturated so youths should be self-reliant and focus on the tourism industry and promote village tourism." He also added that the government will also provide aid by providing loans to build homestays.
