The Political Secretary to the chief Minister of Sikkim, Jacob Khaling has said that the allegations against him is unfounded, baseless and an attempt to tarnish the image of his and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha.

After the day of press conference called by the alleged victim denying all the allegations raised by Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj against her and the Political Secretary to Chief Minister Jacob Khaling, today a press conference was also called by Khaling at a hotel in the capital Gangtok to address the trending issue.

Khaling while addressing the press media firmly denied all the allegations raised against him by Passang Sherpa and the other members of Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj. He strongly objected on how the organization members defamed him and the alleged victim in a press conference.

He added that the alleged victim has already filed an FIR against Passang Sherpa, Tseten Tashi Bhutia and Bharat Basnet and others and in addition the Political Secy has also filed a police report at Sardar Thana, Gangtok on August 22. Khaling was alleged of attempt to rape,  molestation, outrage of modesty of woman, threat to life and violation of SC & ST atrocity act by Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj.

During the press conference, Khaling claimed that he was not in the capital Gangtok on November 11, 2020 which was the date of incident mentioned in the circulating FIR produced by Passang Sherpa while addressing the media on August 21. He further stated SNS has taken this step to tarnish his and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha’s image. He claimed all the allegations as false, baseless and unfounded by showing various print and digital reports claiming his absence in the capital on the mentioned date on FIR.

He further appealed the police administration to pursue necessary legal actions against the members of SNS. Khaling informed about filing a general diary against Passang Sherpa, Bharat Basnet, Testen Tashi Bhutia Khusboo Verma, Sonam Sherpa and Avinash Yakha at Sadar Thana, Gangtok.

He further also alleged Avinash Yakha and Khusboo Kumari Verma from Namchi  to be a part of the conspiracy against him since a  month and further alleged to have been working under some high direction.

Khaling stated  “ Sikkimey Nagarik Samaj should compensate the loss made against the alleged victim and her family by the defamation. I also have full faith on Indian Judiciary’, he concluded.
