Mass Inauguration Cum Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of SGAY Apartments at Temi-Namphing
Mass inauguration of the Sikkim Garib Aawas Yojana (SGAY) Apartments At Laameytar Ground, Temi Tea Garden under BAC Temi-Tarku, South Sikkim, was organised under Temi Namphing constituency (BAC Temi RDD), Tuesday, May 24.
The Minister for Tourism and Industries Departments cum Area MLA, Bedu Singh Panth graced the occasion for foundation laying ceremony for the construction of twenty apartments for the workers of Temi Tea Gardens after he handed over the keys to the beneficiaries.
Further, he laid foundation stones of 20 nos of SGAY Apartments. These apartments are reported to be fully furnished including LED TVs, Sofa-Sets, etc., and will be handed over to the workers of Temi Tea garden after its completion.
SGAY Apartments: “One of a kind scheme”
This has been said to be a “one of a kind scheme of the State Government for the welfare of the workers” and this project shall be implemented by RMDD under the supervision of BAC Temi.
The programme saw the presence of Chairman for Temi Tea Board, Tashi Tshering Bhutia, Chairman for Commerce and Industries Department, Vyasnanda Guruji, State Level Vice President, Lalit Sharma, Up-Adakshya (S), Bhim Lakhey, Adakshyas, BDO Temi Premk Subba, Vice Chairman for Teesta Stage-V Durga Psd. Poudyal and panchayats members.
Attending the present among were CLC President Gopal Chettri, CLC Convener Tshering Bhutia, CLC Nari Convener, Parvati Acharya, CEC members Karma Pintso Bhutia and D.B Banya, accompanied by concerned Tea Board staffs, BAC Staffs, AE, JE, Supervisor, Manoj Agrawal, Senior Manager Sujan, BLC, DLC, WLC and party functionaries from different wards.
Preceding the main events, a brief highlight of the programme was delivered by Prem Subba, BDO Temi. In his welcome speech, warmly welcomed the chief guest and guests for attending the inauguration ceremony and brief about the programme for the upcoming welcoming initiative of Sikkim government for the construction of new buildings for the needy households.
