A Darjeeling resident woman was raped for a week by her 28-year-old friend in Delhi. Further, she was physically harmed her by poring hot dal (lentils), reports national news reports.
Paras, who hails from Uttarakhand and worked as a cook at an eatery in Delhi, has been arrested on February 2 based on FIR filled by victim on January 30 under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376 (rape), and 377 (sodomy) of the Indian Penal Code.
“Case came to light on January 30 when a PCR call informed the Neb Sarai police station that a woman was being beaten by her husband. A police team rushed to the spot, rescued the woman, and took her to AIIMS. At the time of hospitalization, she had around 20 injury marks on her body. The woman had befriended Paras and was in contact with him for the last 3-4 months. She was supposed to reach Bengaluru in the first week of January for a job as a housemaid. However, as the days passed, Paras allegedly started physically assaulting and sexually abusing her for a week. In a particularly horrifying incident, he reportedly poured hot dal over her, causing burn injuries.” reports Times of India on February 7, 2024
The 28-year old accused has been charged with rape, sodomy, and causing harm.
