Pakyong, December 22 (IPR): Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang laid the foundation stone of Limboo Bhawan/ Manghim at Assam Linzey on Thursday in the presence of Samdup Lepcha, Minister Culture, Roads & Bridges Department, Bhim Hang Subba, Minister Public Health Engineering Department, M. N Sherpa Minister Power & Labour Department and Em Prasad Sharma MLA Namcheybong.
At the onset of the program, the Hon’ble Chief Minister participated in a ritual with Phaytangma (Limboo Shaman) and further inquired about the requisition of Manghim . HCM was very positive towards the construction as it is distinctive and the first of its kind. He added that it is the responsibility of the government for the construction of Bhawan which further needs to be conserved by the community for the well-being of the community.
The four-storey Limboo Bhavan cum Manghim is being constructed at the estimated cost of four crores 32 lakhs, sanctioned under Culture Department, Government of Sikkim and the completion tenure is of two years informed H.B Subba, President Assam Lingzey Srijunga Yumasam Manghim Managing Committee.
The sole purpose of Bhawan is to serve all the communities of the vicinity in times of need. The president further informed that Bhawan is not only confined to the Limboo community but is open to all the communities of the area.
The program also had the presence of Chairman Ganza Bhutia, Chairman Bindhya Subba, Advisor Dubo Tshering Bhutia, OSD Agriculture & Horticulture, DC Pakyong, ADC Pakyong, ADC (Dev) Pakyong, ADC (Dev) Gangtok, SDM Pakyong, SDM Rongli along with Department officials and local dignitaries.
