Chongrang-BAC organized a brief program and distributed the Aama yojana cheque to Yuksam-Tashiding beneficiaries under the women Empowerment Scheme.
The brief distribution program was held at Chongrang-BAC. The event was attended by SLA Deputy Speaker also area MLA Sangay Lepcha along with Ecclesiastical Advisor R. S. Bhutia, BDO Chongrang Garap Dorjee Bhutia, Zilla and Gram Panchayat members and large number of beneficiaries.
Adressing the gathering, MLA Lepcha said that the” Aama Sashaktikaran Yojna” launched by the State Government with aim to empower women in state of Sikkim. He said that such schemes will provide immediate financial supports. Around 16,000 women beneficiaries under the Aama Scheme have received the financial assistance through SBS cheques and direct debit into their SBS accounts. A total of 500 beneficiaries from Yuksam-Tashiding constituency have benefited from this scheme in the first phase, the MLA informed.
Lepcha said state government is committed to uplift the people of the state and apprised about the various welfare initiatives of the state government. He said that the people should be thankful for the welfare initiatives of the state government for the benefit of the people and also threw light on the various developments of the State Government.
BDO Garap Dorjee Bhutia informed that the state government has started this type of scheme for the upliftment of women and mothers in the state. He also highlighted on many other initiatives being initiated by the state government.
He said that under Chongrang BAC, the beneficiaries can easily deposit and withdraw funds in the branches of State Bank of Sikkim. He also informed that the government can even make additional incentive allowance if the beneficiaries would make a proper issue of the scheme. He also informed that Chongrang BAC in co-ordination with Gram Panchayat would help the beneficiaries to open bank accounts at SBS branch.
The program was co-ordinated by Panchayat Inspector Birkha Singh Subba.
