On noon of November 9 one stray dog was brutally assaulted and killed by three namely Sunil Chettri, RK and Arun Rai of Lingding, Many Dara East Sikkim.
Further in regard to the case, an FIR was registered by Neelam Subba member of People for Animal on November 10 at Sadar Police Station.
Speaking with Sikkim Chronicle, Neelam Subba said, “ I am an animal lover and when I heard the news of the brutal assault and killing of the animal through social media handle i contacted one local resident, in which the informer narrated me the whole story in which the dog was assaulted and was beaten with the iron rod then the dog died after that the dead dog was buried below the construction site”
“ According to the narrater the alleged persons are construction labourers working at a private building site ” added Subba
After the FIR was registered at Sadar police station the alleged were called upon for the investigation at the station, in which all three accepted their crime and the 3 alleged has been charged under protection of Animal cruelty Act of 1960 section 11(1)0(L) and IPC, 1860 section 429/34.
