Gangtok, September 3: With another death today, Sikkim stands with five total deaths due to the coronavirus.

The patient was a 65-year old reportedly undergoing treatment for the same at STNM Hospital after testing positive at Central Referral (Manipal) Hospital on September 1 via Rapid Antigen Testing.

He was shifted to STNM Hospital where he succumbed to the virus. The patient had been suffering from asthma, diabetes, and pneumonia before being diagnosed COVID-19 positive. His body will be cremated at Ranipool crematorium on Thursday.

This news comes just days after the fourth death was reported, where a 50-year-old patient with comorbidities, passed away on August 31.

Currently, Sikkim’s active cases stand at 430 cases after 34 more tested positive on Thursday and a total of 1304 recoveries.
