Mayal Lyang, an NGO in Namchi, is a children’s home. The NGO was provided with computer systems and UPS systems by Round Table Club 301 Gangtok and ACE Round Table 232 Siliguri. The NGO expressed its heartfelt gratitude towards their sponsors who came through even during these dire pandemic times. Saying that the provision of these electronics was extremely helpful seeing how in the 21st century having a computer would help the kids in the home get ahead in life.

“Computers today are a basic necessity in everyone’s life and these are very helpful to us, especially in the 21st century,” a Facebook post from Mayal Lyang Children Home said.

The Home also thanked KL Tenzing, former Superintendent of Police for being a bridge between the home and different organizations that came as sponsors for the home. “We are always thankful for all your immense and glorious support. We pray for you to be happy and healthy".

Suk Tshering Lepcha, a mediator from the Mayal Lyang Children’s Home Namchi spoke with Sikkim Chronicle and informed that two computer systems and two UPS systems were presented to the home by the sponsors after Tenzing gave the word out to the sponsors. The sponsors were Gangtok Round Table 301, and Siliguri ACE Round Table 232, that are branches of the same organization ‘Round Table’ that mostly works on promoting fellowship, education, service and goodwill.

“We got two computer systems and two UPS to go with that,” Lepcha shared.

“The Round Table organizations gave those to us and we are very thankful for that, KL Tenzing sir told them and we got the provisions, sir has been a bridge between us and them, and we want to heartfully thank everyone who have helped us so far,” he added.

Furthermore, he adds, “We want to thank the media and especially thank the sponsors, KL Tenzing sir and everyone who provided us with computers which will be very helpful to us and the kids here and we are indebted in gratitude because of that. We want to thank everyone who have helped us and also want to welcome anyone who would like to help us in the future.”
